The 2016-2017 APHN Public Health Policy Committee has worked to more clearly define the role of Community Health Workers (CHWs) and their collaboration with community/public health nurses (C/PHN). Through an analysis of state and/or regional efforts to integrate CHWs into the system, review of the literature, and interviews with those working on such integration, the Committee members have developed policy recommendations for this increasingly important role and collaboration.
